About 300,000 buildings were damaged or destroyed during Haiti's biggest earthquake, and 1,3 million people lost everything they had. Around 550.000 Haitians affected by the earthquake continue to live in tent-ghettos and in dangerous, half-collapsed buildings and homes.
Despite the huge human, economic and ecological cost of the disaster, knowledge and technology can be deployed on an industrial scale to transform the rubble into affordable, earthquake-proof accommodations for the victims still living in ghetto-like tent camps. SEE MORE
